Setting up at Cape Cod

Cape Cod is very quite now.

The big news since I got here was that a 100 kilo black bear has been on Cape Cod for the past few weeks. I always wondered about the bear when I went outside in the dark. I always had my walking stick with me….for protection.

Good news today, they darted him in Wellfleet and took him 200 miles away off-Cape.

Not that many campers yet. The workers this year include several UK types, and Alistair from Aberdeen, he was here last year and 3 people from Connecticut, 2 Serbs and a few more coming…. John G. gave me a kilo of fresh Sea Bass and I cooked it for the Serbs and Alistair. Best fish in the world!!!

The wifi has been going off and on here, Marty is going to get a new router.. I really need wifi….just like a drug..

Last night I made my first pizza and it was great. A few days ago I took a bus to Stop and Shop and got a bunch of food… actually I am living a good life here. A good mix of aloneness and cooking for my international friends.

Last week I got a Samsung 7 inch Tab 2 and love it. Spending time setting it up. I bought a rubber cover for it, a hard cover case/stand for it. I also got a 32 gig mini-memory card for it. I will fill it up eventually.

I was somewhat depressed when I got back from Korea. I had no idea where I was the first morning I woke up in Albany. For 2 weeks my sleep pattern was out of whack. It is okay now. I put up the video of the fire eater at the mask festival in Korea. You can find it here. search_query=helderweb≷=US

Ok that is my report… looking at the world and thinking… where to next!

My new socks from Serbia. My first gift of the summer.

Home for a week

At JFK, we stayed on the ground for 2 hours waiting for clearance to take off to Detroit.  I was not happy with going to Detroit after the long trip from Seoul.  And then I had to walk a long way from from one gate to the other…. they do have a nice tunnel at the Detroit Airport which connects the terminals.
So my last flight of this trip was in a little corporate-type jet, on a clear night across New York State to Albany.  It was smooth and the views were incredible, I got to see many NY State cities on a brilliant night and it was a perfect way to end my trip. My sister Joanne picked me up at the airport.
When I awoke the next morning after getting home, I did not know what country I was in.  After a week I still have not got my sleeping patterns right yet. I got to see all my grandkids while I was in New York, but I really just wanted to keep travelling and I bought a ticket to Cape Cod and again…another bus.  It took all day, but I enjoyed the ride against Massachusetts
We stopped at many cities on the way to Providence, Rhode Island.  Another bus to Hyannis, then another bus to Wellfleet.  I was happy to see my trailer was still there.  And now I need to clean it up and get comfortable for the summer.  One of the first things I did was to put my Amazon hammock up and ready for a long relaxed summer (I hope).
